COVID-19: Is This Just Our Life Now?

The COVID pandemic has upended our lives in many frustrating ways, for a lot longer than we ever imagined. Which begs the question: Is this just our life now? In this episode, I talk to Dr. Bob Wachter, Chair of UCSF Department of Medicine, about all things COVID right now... and most importantly, what he expects for spring and summer.

For many of us, Dr. Wachter has been a source of front-line information on the pandemic with his regular updates on Twitter that are full of data and insights on the state of COVID-19.

Dr. Wachter has been named as the most influential physician-executive in the US, and his book The Digital Doctor: Hope, Hype and Harm at the Dawn of Medicine’s Computer Age, was a New York Times science bestseller.

Dr. Wachter received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, completed his residency at UCSF, was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar at Stanford, and studied patient safety as a Fulbright Scholar.
