Dr. Megan Ranney advocates for gun violence prevention

In episode 3, emergency room physician Dr. Megan Ranney explains how gun violence is a public health crisis, and what she’s doing to help end it.

In 2018, after a paper on firearm injuries was published by the American College of Physicians, the NRA tweeted that “self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane.” This kicked off the #ThisIsOurLane” movement amongst physicians, including Dr. Ranney.

Dr. Ranney is a respected researcher, emergency physician, and advocate in the field of injury prevention and digital health. She is a Professor at Brown University, and the co-founder of AFFIRM, the American Foundation for Firearm Injury Reduction in Medicine.
