Libertas provides survivors of torture and human rights violations in the New York City area with comprehensive medical, mental health, social, and legal services to help clients regain function and lead healthy, confident, and hopeful lives.

Heart of Healthcare Grant Challenge

  • Each semi-finalist receives a $2,500 grant. The grand prize winner receives a one-time $50K grant, along with a full feature episode on the Heart of Healthcare podcast. 

  • Applicants must be a registered 501(c)3 based in, and serving people in, the US. Non-profits of all sizes / funding levels are welcome to apply. Past semi-finalists and grand prize winners are not eligible to apply again.

  • We’re looking for organizations positively impacting the lives and health of everyday Americans. This can include health access, food insecurity, healthy housing, violence prevention, mental health, environmental health, or any other social determinant of health.

  • Once the application period closes, applications are reviewed by a panel of judges, comprised of a cross-functional group of healthcare experts. Semi-finalists, as determined by the judges, will make a 5-minute audio pitch of their mission which will be aired on the Heart of Healthcare Podcast. This will begin the public voting process, which allows listeners to vote for the grand prize winner. The final grand prize will be determined by a combination of public votes and judge evaluation.
